PM presides over meeting on el Robeky project, urban development of Magra el Oyoun

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail presided over a meeting Thursday 04/08/2016 to follow up the executive steps of implementing the leather city venture in el Robeky and developing Magra el Oyoun area.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of planning, housing, local development, trade and industry, antiquities as well as acting Cairo governor and number of officials at the bodies concerned.
During the meeting, the premier stressed that the government is keen on developing the leather industry via establishing a city for it in el Robeky and implementing urban development operation in Magra el Oyoun which will include restoring its wall for the historic and cultural importance of that region. He underlined the need to offer financial compensation for the residents of Magra el Oyoun who will move during the restoration process.
The get-together took up also the first and second stages of the project where the first stage of the venture was finalized. It included implementing the infrastructure and providing electricity as well as water so as to transfer 1.066 tanneries from Magra el Oyoun to el Robeky.
Ismail discussed means of providing residential units for workers in the city as well as ongoing contacts with international firms specialized in leather industry and promote for its products.
The officials tackled preparations for establishing technological center for leather industry in el Robeky as well as steps of building factories and stores for chemicals and treating water stations to be used in tanning leather.
A museum will be established to show the stages of developing the leather industry in Egypt.
