Shoukry due in Tunisia on Sunday for talks on Libyan file

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head on Sunday 19/02/2017 for Tunisia to convene with the top diplomats of Algeria and Tunisia to review the situation in Libya and gear up for a trilateral summit in this respect, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The summit falls within the framework of an initiative spearheaded by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, Ahmed Abu Zeid told diplomatic reporters.

Abu Zeid said the Libyan file represents a top priority in the Egyptian foreign policy in view of the ties and common borders between the two sides.

Abu Zeid said Egypt restored its pivotal role at the Arab and international levels, highlighting the efforts exerted by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry over the past few months, especially as the Arab Summit is due to be held next month.
