International Conference on Iftaa
Monday، 16 October 2017 - 02:44 PM
Under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Darul Iftaa organizes an International Conference on Iftaa. The conference will be held on October 17-19, 2017 in Cairo under the title "The Role of Fatwa in Creating a Stable Society."
Egypt’s Darul Ifta will be hosting the third international conference through the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide with the participation of multi-regional delegations from more than 60 countries.
Grand Imam of Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb, Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam and Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa will inaugurate the conference.
The three-day conference, which is considered a milestone in Darul Iftaa’s history, will discuss a number of vital issues relating to Muslim minorities in western countries and covers the mannerism on how to prepare Imams to handle extremism and encounter the challenges facing Muslim communities.
Al Tayyeb is to deliver the conference’s inauguration speech. The conference will witness the launch of four new initiatives on the role of fatwa (religious edict) via internet portals in interacting with Muslims worldwide.
The conference stems from Darul Iftaa conviction, as a top Muslim religious authority, that Imams and preachers in the west are the core of spreading the true and sound teachings of Islam within various communities and that it is very crucial to provide them with the necessary scholarly preparations and Fatwa Issuance tools to cope with the reality of times.
The conference will discuss a number of vital issues relating to the role of Fatwa in creating a stable society, investigating the deviant extremist Fatwas that undermine the communities’ infrastructure by inciting violence, murder and social unrest as a pretext justifying terrorist attacks.
It will also shed light on the protective measures that should be taken into account to eliminate the spread of extremist Fatwas and replacing them with the correct legal opinions.
