The Ministry of Culture is giving great attention to people with special needs as part of the state's keenness on giving them their right to a decent life, to merge in the society and benefit from their potentials.
Minister of Culture Inas Abdeddayem attended the launching of artistic activities by Awladna (our children) Institution for disability arts at the Grand Cairo Library in Zamalek, attended by a number of public figures, celebrities and board members of the institution.
The minister addressed the event expressing her pride in attending the opening of the activities and asserting the importance of giving the disabled all the care they need.
The Ministry of Culture supports all sectors of artistic and literary talents among people with special needs, she stressed.
The Ministry has recently submitted a memo to the Cabinet requesting changing the term "people with special needs" to "people with special potentials and abilities", she said.
The activities include an exhibition of handicrafts and musical shows by the disabled.
