Immigration Minister Nabila Makram on Thursday said that "Egypt Can" conference will kick off on December 17 in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada.
The two-day conference, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, will discuss means of developing the education system through making good use of visions and proposals by Egyptian experts abroad.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Makram said the conference comes in line with President Sisi's directives to benefit from the know-how of Egyptian scientists abroad in resolving different issues and problems.
A number of government bodies and institutions, notably the Ministries of Education, Higher Education, Social Solidarity, Planning, Culture, Commerce, Tourism, Military Production, Investment, Al Azhar and the Coptic Church will participate in the event, she added.
The gathering is meant to support government efforts to improve the pre-university and university education system to meet the domestic and international needs of the labor market, in addition to probing the possibility of applying the Egyptian experts' ideas as part of the country's development plan, she underlined.
About six workshops addressing key factors to develop the education system will be held on the sidelines of the conference, she noted.
