Sisi & Trump discuss boosting bilateral relations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his US counterpart Donald Trump held phone talks on Tuesday 1/1/2019 on ways of boosting bilateral relations and the latest developments on the Middle East.
The two leaders stressed the importance of continuing to activate joint cooperation in a number of areas, especially the military field and efforts to confront terrorism and extremist thought, in light of the common challenges and strategic relations binding the two friendly countries, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East and joint efforts to restore stability in the region, with the aim of reaching political solutions to the existing crises, especially in Libya, Syria and Yemen.
Trump hailed Egypt's regional and international moves in this regard, the spokesman added.
Sisi also reviewed the Egyptian efforts in the fight against terrorism, stressing Egypt's determination to uproot terrorism.
He also affirmed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation with the US to support those efforts.
