Egypt’s participation in Global Conference of Human Fraternity

The Global Conference of Human Fraternity opened on Sunday 3/2/2019, which organized by the Muslim Council of Elders, headed by Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El Tayyeb at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The two-day conference is being held with the participation of leaders, thinkers and representatives of various religions, and aims to highlight the critical importance of the principle of fraternity and peaceful coexistence.
The conference, which coincides with the historic visit of Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and Dr. Ahmad el Tayyeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif, seeks to address intellectual extremism and its negative aspects, and contribute to the reconstruction of bridges of communication, harmony and respect, as well as to meet the challenges that face humanity to attain security, stability, peace and coexistence.
The international event will have three key themes of discussion that are the Fundamentals of Human Fraternity; the importance of joint initiatives and dialogue for peaceful progress and the opportunities that exist for stronger cooperation to promote shared values in the future.
