Egypt seeks to cooperate with Romania in renewable energy projects

Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker reiterated on Thursday 07/02/2019 his keenness on enhancing cooperation with Romanian companies in the renewable energy domain, including wind and solar energy.
Shaker also called for developing control centers in accordance with the latest technologies as part of the ministry's plan to turn into a smart network.
Shaker made the statements during his meeting with Romanian Deputy Foreign Minister Monica Gheorghita.
The two sides discussed the ministry's plans to lure foreign investments in the energy domain and steps taken to avoid power cuts, especially in summer.
Shaker updated the Romanian minister on the ministry's ambitious plan to increase the participation of renewable energy's contributions to the national power grid to 20 percent by 2022 and to 42 percent by 2035.
