Monday، 15 April 2019 - 01:27 PM

Your Excellency President Macky Sall President of the Republic of Senegal,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me pleasure to be here in Dakar today. I would like to express my thanks to this Excellency President Macky Sall for the hospitality and good reception we have received. The historic brotherly ties that bind Egypt and Senegal had been boosted throughout years in all political, cultural and economic fields. I have to mention to the strong relations between the founder fathers presidents Gamal Abdel Nasser and Leopold Senghor.

I seize this opportunity to congratulate President Macky Sall on his major victory of a second presidential term upon the election that was run last February. Today, we have held bilateral, fruitful and an in-depth talks that covered ways of enhancing and promoting the Egyptian – Senegalese relations on all security, political and economic levels. We also have exchanged views about many regional and international issues especially the situations in West Africa.

We have agreed to exert strenuous efforts to support our bilateral relations mainly in the economic and commercial domains through raising rates of trade exchange and promoting the Egyptian investments in Senegal within the framework of “The Emerging Senegal” plan.

We have agreed on the importance of our cooperation and coordination within the frame of the United Nations and its agencies for the benefit of our African continent, besides enhancing counter terrorism and true understanding of Islam and tolerance in Africa.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the good hospitality we have received from Your Excellency President Macky Sall, looking forward to meet you in your second homeland Egypt in the near future.

Thank You
