President Abdel Fattah El Sisi confirmed on Tuesday 23/4/2019 Egypt's full support for the Sudanese people's free will for forming their future.
In his speech at the inaugural session of a consultative summit on Sudan, he added that today's meeting asserts keenness of the participants to enhance African joint action for solidarity with Sudan which is passing through a critical time in its history.
The meeting is meant to activate the principle of seeking African solutions to African problems, added the president.
President Sisi said the meeting of regional partners of Sudan is meant to support efforts by the Sudanese people to achieve their aspiration for a better future.
Efforts of the Transitional Military Council (TMC), as well as political and civilian powers, to reach a national consensus should also be taken into consideration, the president said.
This is important to overcome the current critical stage in Sudan and guarantee a peaceful and smooth transfer of power in the African country, Sisi stressed.
He warned the Sudanese people against slipping into chaos that could have destructive impacts on their country and the whole region.
Finding African solutions to African problems is the only means to handle common challenges, Sisi said, noting that African countries are more capable than others of understanding the twists and turns of African crises.
That's why Africans are the best to solve their own problems in a way that serves their interests and protects them against foreign interference, the President told the gathering.
Only the Sudanese people will find a solution to their problem through a comprehensive dialogue among the different political powers, Sisi said.
He added that it should be a political and consensual solution that meets aspirations of the Sudanese people for change, development and stability.
The solution should also lead to free and fair elections to which all the Sudanese parties could contribute, Sisi noted.
The President also stressed the importance of the role played by the international community to alleviate burdens of the global economic crisis, which he sees as a real obstacle to achieving Sudanese aspirations.
