Egyptian Ambassador to Germany Badr Abdel Ati has praised efforts exerted by Egypt’s leadership to maintain and digitize Egyptian heritage and pay attention to culture and civilization.

He made his statements on Saturday 11/05/2019 during a cultural event hosted by the Egyptian embassy in Berlin, citing the establishment of a large city for culture and arts in the New Administrative Capital.

The event is part of a cooperation program between the Egyptian National Library and Archives (Dar El-Kotob), Fayoum University’s Faculty of Archaeology, the German University of Marburg’s Islamic Studies Department and the German foundation of scientific cooperation.

It was attended by a host of accredited ambassadors, officials of the German Foreign Ministry and a number of the Egyptian and German people.

Abdel Ati underscored attention paid by the state to improve and upgrade the mechanisms for preservation of monuments, documents and manuscripts for the next generations, hailing Egypt-Germany cooperation on that score.

Head of the Egyptian National Library and Archives Hesham Azmi highlighted the efforts exerted by Dar El-Kotob to make use of other countries' expertise in the field of preservation of manuscripts and digitization of Egyptian heritage.
