President Sisi receives head of Sudanese Transitional Military Council

Head of the Sudanese Transitional Military Council (TMC) Abdul Fattah al Burhan arrived in Cairo on Saturday May 25, 2019.
He was received by Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohammad Abdul Ati and Head of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday May 25,2019 met with al Burhan. The two leaders agreed on the priority of supporting the free will and choices of the Sudanese people.
President Sisi affirmed Egypt's full support to Sudan's security and stability, as well as the free will and choices of its people aiming at reaching a better future and preserving the state institutions.
President Sisi expressed Egypt's readiness to provide all means of support to brothers in Sudan to address the current challenges in line with the aspirations of the Sudanese people away from external interference.
The two leaders held a bilateral talks session, followed by an expanded meeting attended by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Head of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel.
Sisi said the visit reflects eternal ties that unite the people of the Nile Valley, the historical bond between Egypt and Sudan, as well as the unity of destiny and the common interest that binds the two brotherly peoples.
In turn, Burhan hailed the close relations between Egypt and Sudan, praising the existing efforts to enhance the bonds of mutual cooperation in various fields.
He also praised Egypt's unlimited support to the Sudanese people and their choices.
The Sudanese leader reviewed developments in Sudan and efforts to deal with the situation there.
Sisi expressed confidence in the ability of the Sudanese people and state institutions to restore stability, achieve security and preserve the capabilities of the country, stressing the importance of joining together regional and international efforts to help the brotherly Sudan to achieve the benefits of this stage and to address the economic crisis.
He also stressed Egypt's keenness to continue cooperation with Sudan in all files of mutual interest and to push forward the implementation of joint development projects, such as electricity and railways, so as to achieve prosperity and progress for the peoples of the two countries.
Al Burhan left Cairo Saturday evening after a brief visit.
