PM follows up developing area around GEM

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired on Tuesday 11/6/2019
a meeting to follow up the development of the area surrounding
the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Attending the meeting were Antiquities Minister Khaled
el Anani, Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawy,
Housing Minister Asem el Gazzar, Giza Governor Ahmed Rashed
and Supervisor-General of the GEM project Atef Moftah.
During the meeting, Madbouli directed the officials to develop
the area around the GEM as well as all roads leading to it as soon
as possible before the inauguration of the museum next year.
Moftah said that all the roads surrounding the museum from
the eastern and western sides have been finalized,
adding that new roads are under-construction to facilitate
the arrival of visitors to the museum.
The meeting also tackled measures taken to develop
the archaeological Saqqara and Fustat areas, in addition to the
Ayn as Sirah Lake.
