The president made his remarks at a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohammed Shaker and Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait.
Shaker briefed the president on his ministry’s efforts to upgrade the national power grid and enhance the level of ministry’s services in line with a state plan to modernize the electric power system to meet current and future needs, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Shaker also posted the president on the latest progress on several mega national projects in the power and renewable energy sectors.
In addition, the minister touched upon a ministry’s plan to increase the number of smart and prepaid electric meters as part of the ministry’s digitization efforts to provide citizens with better services, Rady added.
