Shubra El Kheima Criminal Court sentenced 64 defendants of Muslim Brotherhood members in absentia to 15 years in prison and six defendants to seven years in prison in connection with Kafr el-Sheikh and Shubra el-Kheima riots case. The court also jailed 13 MB members to 10 years in prison and fined them 20,000 pounds. The court sentenced five defendants to one year in prison and ordered them to pay EGP 5,000 in bail.

The arrested were plotting to commit rioting, violent acts and blocking roads in order to disrupt the new academic year in Mansoura University.
