The two countries celebrated on 16th of July 2007 the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations during the visit of the Nepali Minister of Foreign Affairs, at that time, Ms. Sahana Pradan to, and Egyptian Cultural events and Arts' Shows had been organized in Nepal on the celebration of this occasion in 2007.
Nepal has always supported Egyptian and Arab issues since 1956, and it participated in the united Nations Emergency Forces II (UNEM-II), and that was its first time to participate in a peace force in the by a mission composed of 500 military officers and for 6 months. Moreover, participates in the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) by 5 Egyptian military officers at that time.
Both Countries have strong constructive and cooperative ties in the framework of the United Nations and its different organizations, as well as international forums and Non-Aligned movement, through its summit conferences, and the latest one was held in Sharm El-Sheikh and Nepal participated by a high level delegation.
