I would like in the beginning to welcome H.E. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Egypt as a dear guest. I would like also to welcome his accompanying delegation that include several ministers and senior officials along with Hungarian businessmen. This reflects how far Hungary is interested in promoting relations with Egypt. Cairo is also seeking to enhance relations with Hungary where the Egyptian side is seeking to consolidate efforts with the Hungarian counterpart over the coming period in order enhance bilateral relations and attain tangible results at the level of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries.

I have reviewed at talks with the Hungarian prime minister all means of promoting relations between the two countries in several domains and through specific projects that will be followed up by officials of the two countries in the coming period in a way that contributes to attaining marked progress in bilateral relations and reflects the extended friendship between the two countries while building on a time-honored heritage of constructive cooperation in several fields that is supported by promising investment and economic opportunities that come as part of Egypt's implementation of an ambitious development plan for the future.

Our talks also took up the recent developments in the Middle East and Europe where we had identical viewpoints on the importance of maintaining consultations at all official levels for coordinating stances and exchanging views towards the major challenges facing us. I have also exchanged views with H.E. the prime minister on several pressing regional issues that affect stability and security in the Middle East and Europe atop of which come the Syrian issue and the situation in Libya. The talks also took up our efforts for restoring security and stability in these sisterly countries. Within this framework, the talks tackled our view for standing up to the danger of terrorism and extremism as two major challenges facing the aspirations of the peoples of the region for a better future. The talks also addressed several joint challenges atop of which comes illegal migration and means of fighting it. I have confirmed on this score the importance of the development dimension in handling this issue and the necessity of ending the basic causes of it through consolidating international efforts for hammering out political settlements to the crises plaguing several countries of the region in a way that preserves the territorial integrity of these countries and guarantees their entities and potentials of their peoples.

I have also reviewed during the talks the recent developments in Egypt, especially at the level of democratic transformation and economic reform where I have underlined the determination of the Egyptian people for achieving comprehensive development at all levels. I would like to express my appreciation for what I felt of the Hungarian interest in contributing to the current development process in Egypt through intensifying joint action and promoting trade and investment relations between the two countries in a way that attains joint interests of the Egyptian and Hungarian peoples.

Your Excellency the prime minister, allow me in conclusion to express once again the pleasure of the Egyptian leadership and people for your presence in Cairo. I confirm to you my full determination to maintain action over the coming period to enhance and activate all forms of partnership between our two friendly countries.
