Singaporean President visit to Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday 31/10/2016 at the Presidential Palace Singaporean President Tony Tain, who arrived in Cairo on a three-day visit.

The visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Egypt and Singapore and is the first by a Singaporean president to Egypt in 20 years.

During the visit, Tan is scheduled to meet with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb, and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros.

Tan’s agenda also includes a visit to Al Azhar University and holding a meeting with members of the Egyptian-Singaporean business council.

Bilateral agreements are also expected to be signed during the visit. They will focus on technical education, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), electronic governance, ports, water desalination, energy and information technology.

Also, a Singaporean logistic company inaugurated in the 10th of Ramadan city.
