Egypt's Participation in G20 Africa Partnership Conference

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi headed on Sunday 11/6/2017 for Berlin to attend the G20 Africa Partnership Conference in the German capital. Several heads of state and government of major African countries, including Tunisia, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Niger and Rwanda as well as presidents of the World Bank, The International Monetary Fund and the African Development Bank will attend the conference.
The president's participation in the gathering falls within the framework of Egypt's efforts to promote cooperation between African countries and G20.
The German chancellery is expected to launch an initiative for cooperation with Africa that is meant to establish partnerships with world finance institutions with a view to providing an investment-luring climate in Africa. The step will contribute to achieving economic and social development, creating jobs and solving problems in the continent.
The Egyptian delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil.

Egypt's Agenda
- Sisi will deliver a speech at the conference on Monday 12/6/2017 on Egypt's vision regarding challenges facing the African continent.

- Sisi will also take part in a seminar hosted by Chancellor Angela Merkel on the private investment in the field of infrastructure in Africa and the relation between the public and private sectors in upgrading infrastructure projects in Africa. A number of German companies will take part in the seminar including Joe Kaeser, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG, who will review his company's projects in the field of energy in Egypt as a model to be followed as regards partnership between the Egyptian government and private sector.
- Sisi will also be hosted by Merkel at the German Chancellery Office for tete-a-tete session of talks that will cover political, economic, trade and security issues as well as the latest developments in the Middle East region.
- The Egyptian president will also meet with a number of ministers at the German government including Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel, Minister of Energy and Economy Brigitte Zypries, Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Muller, Minister of Interior Thomas de Maizière and majority leader in the German parliament Volker Kauder.
- President Sisi will also attend the inauguration of the Egyptian-German Economic Forum which aims at bolstering joint projects between the two sides, along with beefing up more investment potentials in the Egyptian market.
- The accompanying ministers will hold a number of important meetings. Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil will head the activities of the Egyptian-German committee that aims at creating a constructive dialogue between the Egyptian and German companies.
