Palestinian President’s Visit

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Cairo on Saturday 8/7/2017 on a two-day visit to Egypt, for talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday 9/7/2017.
The Palestinian president is accompanied by a delegation including his adviser for diplomatic affairs Magdy al Khaledi, Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeinah and Head of the Palestinian Intelligence Maged Farag.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Egypt’s firm stance to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
This solution should guarantee the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State with Al-Quds as its capital, president Sisi said.
President Abbas offered his sincere condolences to president Sisi over the victims of the terrorist attack that took place on Friday in southern Rafah, North Sinai.
The two leaders discussed the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and ways to revive the Middle East peace talks. Abbas briefed president Sisi on efforts exerted by the Palestinian side to mobilize international support for a two-state solution, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The two leaders reviewed the US efforts to resume peace talks between the Palestinian and Israeli sides
