Egyptian exports to Britain amounted 655 million sterling in 2016, while trade between the two countries reached about 2 billion sterling .
British exports to Egypt hit 1.22 billion sterling in 2016, compared to 950 million sterling in 2015 .
Egyptian exports to Britain varied between raw materials and petroleum (at 39% of petroleum products ) ,electrical appliances, generators, cars and other appliances at 21%, textile and manufactured products at 17%, agricultural and food products and beverages at 14%, chemicals and pharmaceuticals at 9% .
The British exports to Egypt in 2016 were estimated at 36% of machinery and transport equipment , 24%, of pharmaceuticals and chemicals, 22% of raw materials and petroleum products, 11% of food and beverages, 7% of textiles and manufactured products .
Britain's imports to Egypt account for about 5% of the Middle East region .
