President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his spouse Entissar El Sisi welcomed visiting US First Lady Melania Trump at Ittihadiya Presidential Palace, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.

President Sisi stressed that Egypt is keen on boosting the strategic ties and partnership with US, hailing the role of the US aid agency (USAID) in shoring up the health, education, and tourism sectors along with supporting SMEs and social and economic reforms.

Mrs. Trump hailed the cordial reception she got once she arrived in Cairo, and expressed her admiration of the ancient Egyptian heritage and civilization.

She said she was keen on boosting the cooperation between Washington and Cairo, especially in the social, health, education, and tourism domains, as well as enhancing roles of women and youth in the society, and protecting children’s rights.
