White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner visit

President Abdel-Fattah al-Sis received on Thursday 1/8/2019 White House senior adviser Jared Kushner in Cairo, where they discussed a U.S. plan to settle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During the meeting, President Sisi has asserted that Egypt backs all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, in addition to pushing forward endeavors to resume the peace talks between Palestinians and Israel.

President Sisi underlined the strong strategic relations binding between Egypt and the US in different fields, and expressed Cairo's keenness to continue coordination and consultation with the US administration on ways of consolidating regional peace and stability, especially in light of the current crises sweeping across some countries in the region.

For his part, Kushner conveyed to President Sisi the greetings of President Trump, asserting that Washington looks forward to boosting ties with Cairo at all levels.

President Trump's senior adviser hailed the key role and great efforts exerted by Egypt to bolster the foundations of regional stability and peace, as well as combating terrorism and extremism.

Kushner also praised Egypt's success in reinforcing regional stability and implementing the economic reform program.

The US President's adviser posted President Sisi on all communications made by Washington with different parties in the region to advance the stalled negotiations between the Palestinians and Israel, saying that his country sees Egypt a political heavyweight in the region.
