Finance Minister: President to review new draft budget next week

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait asserted on Saturday 13/03/2021 that the new draft budget of 2021-22 fiscal year will be sent to President Abdel Fatah El Sisi next week for review ahead of taking measures required to send it to the parliament.
In a press release, the ministry said that the minister’s statements came during his response to questions by journalists and members of parliament and senate on the sidelines of inaugurating the developed headquarters of the finance department in Qena governorate.
The minister added that the new budget reflects the presidency’s directives to support general investments especially national project to support countryside in order to enhance the services provided to citizens and their livelihood.
The presidency also directed to give more attention to meet the developmental needs of the Upper Egypt governorates within the state’s efforts to support overall and sustainable development nationwide, the minister added.
President Sisi’s main goal is to reach development nationwide, the minister noted, adding that the approximate cost of the implementation of the national project to develop the Egyptian countryside within three years reaches about EGP 600 billion.
