Egypt and France signed a deal for the supply of 30 Rafale combat aircraft.
Under the provisions of the contract between the Egyptian Armed Forces and the French Dassault Aviation company, this will be financed via a 10-year loan.
Prompted by the Egyptian political leadership’s keenness to develop the country’s comprehensive military might, Egypt and France reached a deal in 2015 to supply the Egyptian Air Force with 24 Rafale aircraft to protect Egyptian national interest.
Rafale is a twin-jet combat aircraft manufactured by Dassault Aviation and is capable of carrying out a wide range of short and long-range missions. It can be used to perform ground and sea attacks, reconnaissance, high-accuracy strikes and nuclear strike deterrence.
