Public Business Sector Ministry refurbishes Egypt's invaluable hotels

The Ministry of Public Business Sector, in cooperation with the private sector, implements a massive plan to revamp historic and invaluable hotels and establish new ones to revive the tourism sector and benefit from the state-owned hotel assets.
One of the hotels which tops the development list is the Grand Continental Hotel, located in Cairo's Opera Square. A comprehensive plan had been drawn up for reestablishing the hotel with its original design and distinguished style.
Also, Shepheard Hotel, which the Egyptian General Company for Tourism and Hotels (EGOTH) and Saudi Al Sharif Group Holding signed a contract for renovation.
According to the contract, Al Sharif Group will finance the comprehensive development of the hotel and increase its capacity to 316 rooms and suites within 42 months. The investment cost for development is EGP 1.4 billion.
Steigenberger Hotel El Lessan, which was opened by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on December 3, 2019, was totally renovated at a cost of EGP 350 million, accommodating 153 rooms and suites.
The list also included Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir Cairo, Cairo Marriott Hotel, Marriott Mena House, Four Seasons in Sultana Malak land in Luxor, Cosmopolitan Hotel, Safir Dahab Resort, Village Resort Magawish, and Rixos Premium Magawish.
