Agriculture Ministry: We work on tapping new markets to boost exports

Minister of Agriculture Spokesperson Dr. Mohamed el-Qersh said the ministry seeks to access new markets around the globe to strike a boom in the volume of agricultural exports.
In statements to Extranews Sunday, the spokesperson said Egypt's agricultural products succeeded in reaching out to the most important market; the Japanese market, adding that new markets were also opened in a number of Arab and African countries.
El-Qersh highlighted the ministry's strategy that aims at achieving a high-variety in the volume of agricultural products.
He reiterated the State's keenness on pressing ahead with an expanded-agriculture policy, along with honing farmers' skills and promoting scientific research, with a view to improving production quality.
On Saturday, Minister of Agriculture and land Reclamation Al- Sayed el-Quseir announced an increase in the volume of Egyptian agriculture products that reached more than 4 mn tons.
The minister received a report on the total volume of Egypt 2021 agriculture products from Jan till June 29.
According to the report, the volume of Egyptian exports is up by 15% compared to the same period in 2020.
