Culture Minister: Tel Basta festival coincides with 'Decent Life' presidential initiative

Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem said on Friday 20/05/2022 that Tel Basta Music and Singing Festival in Sharqiya governorate coincides with the "Decent Life" presidential initiative, saying culture is the soft power that enables building humanity.
This came in her speech during the opening of the festival. Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani, Supply and Internal Trade Minister Ali Moselhi and Sharqiya Governor Mamdouh Ghorab also attended the opening ceremony.
The festival is held under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.
During the opening ceremony, Abdel Dayem said that festival coincides with the government’s efforts to open up new horizons for achieving cultural equity and competency.
The festival, which lasts for three days, features six concerts, including a concert for veteran singer Ali el Haggar.
Tel Basta was the capital of the 18th region in ancient Egypt. Also known as Bubastis, the city was named after the ancient Egyptian goddess Bastet (the cat goddess).
