Meetings with government officials


On June 1, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi met with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister. During the meeting, the President was briefed on the results of the recent visit of the Egyptian government delegation, headed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Egyptian-UAE-Jordanian tripartite meeting. During the meeting, an integrated industrial partnership initiative was launched for sustainable economic development between Egypt, the UAE and Jordan. The Prime Minister also reviewed the results of his meetings with Emirati businessmen and investors during the visit.

The President stressed the great importance of cooperation between Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. He directed to continue coordination and close cooperation between all ministries, all state agencies and concerned authorities to work to quickly activate the partnership initiative and start implementing the projects it includes in various sectors, in pursuit of economic integration between the three brotherly countries.

On June 4, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, met with Counselor Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice. The meeting tackled the Ministry's efforts regarding the drafting of a personal status law.

The President also directed the relevant State bodies, in particular; the Interior Ministry, the Department of Public Prosecutions, the Administrative Control Authority and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, to provide the Law Preparation Committee with the precise information and data necessary to support it in the performance of its tasks with all professionalism and objectivity.

In this context, Counselor Omar Marwan reviewed the ongoing efforts by the Ministry to develop the litigation system related to the Egyptian family, in order to achieve stability in the Egyptian society and preserve the rights of all family members.

On June 6, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, met with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Hisham Tawfik, Minister of the Public Business Sector, Lieutenant General Kamel Alwazir, Minister of Transport, and Mrs. Nevin Jamea, Minister of Trade and Industry. The meeting dealt with the follow-up of the executive position on the development of the port system all over the Republic.

The President directed to continue efforts to develop the Egyptian seaport system according to the highest standards to achieve the maximum benefit from the distinguished geographical location of Egypt. 

For its part, the minister reviewed the existing efforts to develop the various ports, especially the projects of "Alexandria Grand Port", which will include Alexandria Port, Dekheila Port and the Central Port in the Max Area.


On June 7, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, met with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Eng. Sharif Ismail, Assistant to the President of the Republic for National and Strategic Projects, Dr. Hala Al-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Muhammad Maait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashraf Subhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, Major General Muhammad Amin, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Financial Affairs, and Major General Ehab Al-Far, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting reviewed the ongoing work in Egypt's International Olympic City in the new administrative capital.

In this context, the President was briefed on the progress of the work in the Egyptian International Olympic City, which is a huge sports edifice with integrated staff and services according to the highest international standards.



On June 12, 2022, President Abd- El-Fattah El-Sisi, met with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Mr. Al-Qusayr, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Eng. Mustafa Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

The meeting dealt with the follow-up of developments in a number of national projects in the food security sectors at the level of the Republic.


On June 23, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, met with Lieutenant General Ahmad Khalid, Commander of the Strategic Command and Supervisor of Military Industrialization, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, and a number of senior officials. The President was briefed on the development of beaches in Alexandria and the North Coast.

On June 26, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, received General Muhammad Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production.

On June 5, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi opened the events of the exhibition and the first African Medical Conference. On June 12,  President Abd El- Fattah El-Sisi, inaugurated animal production projects, dairy products, and automated massacres, in the dairy production complex in Sadat City, Menoufia Governorate.On June 16, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, inaugurated the official conference of the annual meetings of the African Export-Import Bank in the new administrative capital. Receiving kings and presidents.

On June 18, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received,  in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President welcomed His Majesty the King of Bahrain in his second country, Egypt, stressing Egypt's pride in the historical ties between the two countries and the two fraternal peoples.

The President also affirmed Egypt's keenness to  strengthen bilateral cooperation with Bahrain in various fields, intensify joint coordination within the developments in the Middle East region, and strengthen unity and joint Arab action to face various regional and international challenges. For his part, His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception from the President, praising the sincere and close Egyptian-Bahraini relations, and stressing that his current visit to Egypt comes as a continuation of the distinguished historical relations between the two countries, the government and people. In this context, the Bahraini King also praised Egypt's pivotal and established role as a fundamental pillar of security and stability in the region, and its estimated efforts to promote joint Arab action at all levels. Moreover, he appreciated the great and qualitative development witnessed in Egyptian-Bahraini relations in various political, economic, developmental and other fields. He also affirmed the common keenness to move forward towards further deepening and developing those relations.

On June 19, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi held a tripartite summit in Sharm el-Sheikh with King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, king of Bahrain and King Abdullah II of Jordan. The President welcomed his Bahraini and Jordanian brothers as dear guests to Egypt. He expressed his appreciation for the close and historic relations between the three countries at the official and popular levels. He also stressed Egypt's aspiration to enhance constructive cooperation between Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan, in order to achieve the common interests of their brotherly peoples, and enhance the efforts of joint Arab action, especially with the great challenges resulting from multiple regional and international developments. For their part, the guests of Egypt praised the close ties that bring the three countries together, stressing the keenness to increase cooperation with Egypt to the level of strategic partnership. The talks dealt with constructive bilateral cooperation between the three countries and mutual coordination on various issues of common concern, in addition to the latest developments in the regional and international arenas and the challenges facing the region. The leaders stressed the depth of fraternal and strategic relations between the three brotherly countries and the importance of strengthening, developing and raising them to the highest levels in order to achieve common goals and interests. The leaders also welcomed the upcoming summit to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, attended by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States of America. On June 25, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received, His Highness Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and the meeting witnessed the holding of individual talks, followed by expanded talks that included the delegations of the two countries.

The President welcomed the Emir of Qatar, as a generous guest to Egypt, congratulating him on the anniversary of his assumption of power. The president also affirmed that the visit embodies the progress witnessed by Egyptian-Qatari relations and solidifies developing bilateral relations between the two countries during the coming period in all fields, within the framework of the interest of the two countries and two brotherly peoples. For his part, His Highness Prince Tamim bin Hamad thanked his brother, the President, for the warm reception and hospitality. He congratulated the President on the occasion of the upcoming commemoration of the 30 June revolution and expressed his country's appreciation to the leadership and people of Egypt, especially in light of its pivotal role in serving Arab issues. The Spokesperson added that during the meeting, developments in the regional situation were also discussed. The two leaders agreed on the need for the joint efforts of the Arab countries, as well as the importance of strengthening joint coordination between the two countries to deal with the various crises that the countries of the region are going through. Receiving foreign officials. On June 1, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, received Oliver Farhele, European Union Commissioner for Neighborhood and Expansion Policy, in the presence of Sameh Shoukry, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Christian Berger, European Union Ambassador in Cairo. During the meeting, the President stressed the influential position of the European Union and its institutions.  This comes within the framework of the Egyptian policy, which is based on mutual respect and cooperation. For his part, the European Union Commissioner expressed his pleasure to meet the President, appreciating the distinguished historical relations that the European Union has with Egypt.  The meeting reviewed the various aspects of the relationship between Egypt and the European Union, both with regard to its political, economic and development dimensions. The meeting also addressed developments in international and regional issues, in particular the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its economic repercussions at the global level, especially in the fields of energy and food.

On June 6, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi , in the presence of Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, Chief Executive Officer of the The Institute for African Knowledge, and Ambassador Sheba Shumbayaonda, Ambassador of  Zimbabwe in Cairo.The President requested to convey his greetings to  President Emmerson Mnangagwa, stressing the importance that Egypt attaches to strengthening its relations with Zimbabwe in various fields, especially trade and investment, along with technical cooperation, capacity building and infrastructure improvement. The President also noted Egypt's keenness to maximize coordination and consultation with the Zimbabwe regarding ways to strengthen the mechanisms of joint African action, whether institutional, political or developmental, in a way that contributes to achieving development and  stability that the African countries aspire.For his part, the Zimbabwean official expressed his pleasure to meet the President, conveying to him a written message from his brother, President Mnangagwa, in which he stressed his country's interest in developing bilateral relations and pushing joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries at all levels. On June 11, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, received Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in the Republic of Yemen. The President welcomed the chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, as a dear guest to Egypt and congratulated him on assuming office, wishing him success in facing the challenges facing Yemen. For his part, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi expressed appreciation for Egypt's consistent positions in support of the security and stability of Yemen and the entire region, noting Yemen's aspiration to intensify cooperation between the two countries at various levels during the coming period.

On June 12, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics. Mr. Sameh Shokry, minister of foreign affairs attended the meeting. During the meeting, the President stressed his keenness to strengthen cooperation and bilateral relations with Latvia, and to continue coordination between the two countries on political issues of common interest. For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia expressed his honor to meet the President, stressing his country's keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt, especially in light of its pivotal role in the Middle East, and the African continent.

During the meeting, they reviewed a number of files related to bilateral cooperation. Mr. President welcomed the activity of a number of Latvian companies in Egypt, and looked forward to intensifying cooperation especially in areas where Latvia has outstanding expertise, such as: communications and information technology, education and tourism. The meeting also touched on several regional and international issues of common interest and the challenges facing African and European countries, foremost among which is illegal immigration and terrorism. On June 15, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received Lieutenant General Hamad Muhammad Thani Al Rumithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, with the attendance of General Muhammad Zaki, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Ambassador Maryam Al Kaabi, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo.The President requested to convey his greetings to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, stressing the importance of the relations between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, which is considered to be a pillar for the stability of the Middle East region and the Arab world as a whole. For his part, the Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces expressed his honor to meet the President, conveying to him the greetings and appreciation of Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, stressing the depth of the historical relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples. He also stressed the UAE's keenness to strengthen the strategic cooperation frameworks between the two countries at various levels. During the meeting, it was agreed to continue strengthening coordination and regular consultation between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates with regard to military and security cooperation. On June 15, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, with the attendance of Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Major General Abbas Kamel, chief of General Intelligence, Dr. Muhammad Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Engineer Tarek Al-Mulla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, along with Ms. Kadri Simpson, European Commissioner for Energy, and Ambassador Christian Berger, European Union Ambassador in Cairo. During the meeting, the President stressed the depth of the relations between Egypt and the European Union, and the strong ties that unite the two sides, considering the common challenges facing them. For her part, the President of the European Commission expressed honor for meeting the President; praising the distinguished historical relations between the European Union and Egypt. The official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President confirmed the state's full support for the activities of Chevron in Egypt, especially in the field of research, exploration and production, because of the company's long experience in the activities and fields of the oil and gas industry globally. This supports the petroleum sector in Egypt , and contributes to maximizing the state's benefit from its potential resources for the benefit of current and future generations, within the framework of the depth of cooperation relations and strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States in all fields.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chevron Company expressed his appreciation for meeting the President, as well as his pride in the company's activity and presence over decades in Egypt, stressing the company's keenness to develop a strategic partnership with Egypt, in light of what Egypt has achieved under the President's leadership in terms of economic growth and the tangible development boom that the country is witnessing, as well as in the level of the state's infrastructure in general and the oil and gas sector in particular, in addition to the ongoing regional cooperation projects to link, transfer and liquefy gas, which are growing in importance in light of the current global energy crisis.

On June 20, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received His Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the President affirmed his keenness to continue strengthening consultation and coordination with His Majesty the King and His Highness the Crown Prince towards various issues of common interest, as well as bilateral cooperation issues, within the framework of the historical and strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

In this context, the President praised the great development witnessed in Egyptian-Saudi relations in the political, economic, security and military fields. The president also praise the remarkable growth in the rate of trade exchange and the volume of investments. He pointed out the common keenness to move forward towards further deepening and developing those relations. For his part, His Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman conveyed to the President the greetings of the Saudi king, stressing that his current visit to Egypt comes in support of the distinguished relations between the two countries and the continued intensive consultation and coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia on regional issues of common interest. He also pinpointed the commitment of the two countries to deepen the firm strategic alliance between them that strengthens the unity of the joint Arab and Islamic unity in facing the various challenges that the region is currently witnessing. He expressed his aspiration that this visit adds an additional momentum to the strong and extended ties that bring the two countries together at the official and popular levels.

With regard to bilateral relations, the Spokesperson stated that the meeting discussed ways to strengthen various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially at the economic and investment levels. The meeting also touched on a number of the most prominent issues on the international and regional arenas. The discussions reflected a mutual understanding to continue joint efforts to address the threats that threaten the security and stability of the countries and peoples of the region. The two sides also agreed on the importance of the upcoming summit to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States of America.

On June 26, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi received Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, with  the attendance of Sameh Shoukry, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Hassan Al-Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of "Abu Dhabi Holding", and Ambassador Maryam Al-Kaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo. The President welcomed Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed's visit to Egypt. He requested his Excellency to convey his greetings to his brother, His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates. The President stressed the importance of the Egyptian-Emirati relations that have extended over decades since the reign of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, who contributed to the consolidation of those important relations, which were reflected in the close coordination between the two brotherly countries. He appreciated the UAE's positions in support of Egypt at many historical stages.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his honor to meet with the President. He conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates. He also stressed the keenness to strengthen and consolidate strategic relations between the two countries in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples, and enhance security and stability in the region, especially in light of the Egyptian efforts to maintain peace and security at the regional level during the current delicate phase and the challenges we face. The meeting addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations at various levels, especially at the economic level and to increase UAE investments in several areas in Egypt, especially the energy, transport, ports and tourism sectors. The Spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the St. Petersburg Forum is an annual global economic event held in Russia since 1997. This year Egypt participates as a main guest in the Summit of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate.

On June 17, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi participated via videoconference in the Major Economies Forum Summit on Energy and Climate, under the auspices of US President Joe Biden and with the participation of a group of heads of state and government and the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

 External visits

President's visit to the Sultanate of Oman

President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi made an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman that lasted two days.  During the visit, he met with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman. For his part, the President thanked His Majesty the Sultan of Oman for the good reception and hospitality, stressing Egypt's pride in the depth and durability of strategic relations between the two countries, in addition to the keenness to strengthen and diversify joint bilateral cooperation. The President also appreciated the existing coordination and unity of views between the two countries on issues of mutual interest, as well as the Omani-Egyptian agreement on all regional and international issues.

President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi also met, in Muscat, with His Highness Mr. Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Saeed, Deputy Prime Minister of Oman.  For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister of Oman welcomed the President as a dear guest to Oman, stressing the depth of the ties between the two countries. President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi also met in the Omani capital Muscat with representatives of the business community and the heads of major companies in Oman, with the participation of a number of senior Omani officials and representatives of various government bodies. 

President's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On June 28, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the capital Manama on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The visit lasted for two days. The President met with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the Sakhir Palace in the Bahraini capital, Manama. The official spokesman of the Presidency of the Republic stated that His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa welcomed the President, as a dear guest of Bahrain. He expressed the pride of the Bahraini government and people in strong historical ties and close relations with Egypt in various fields. He also stressed the great appreciation of the strategic and pivotal role played by Egypt under the leadership of the President in protecting Arab national security and defending the issues of the Arab nation. For his part, the President expressed his appreciation of the hospitality of the reception, stressing the strength of the Egyptian-Bahraini relations and Egypt's keenness to develop close bilateral cooperation and coordination for the benefits of the two peoples and the Arab nation. The Spokesperson added that during the meeting, discussions were held on various aspects of bilateral relations, as well as consultations on the developments of a number of international files. For his part, King Hamad bin Issa confirmed the agreement of his country's position with the current Egyptian efforts to settle various disputes in the region. The two leaders also exchanged views on the forthcoming summit between the Gulf States, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States of America, to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the conclusion of the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries in various fields.

On June 29, 2022, President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi attended with His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, the opening of the new building at Bahrain International Airport in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
