Great Egyptian People,

Today marks the seventieth anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution, which represented the culmination of a prolonged struggle led by the Egyptian people, defending their right to a proud homeland with its heads held high. Such revolution was able to entrench the first republic of our state, and to radically improve life, not only in Egypt, but in the entire region as a whole. Moreover, it had awe-inspiring contributions to the global movement of decolonization and entrenching the right of peoples to self-determination. Consequently, the international map has changed, and the banners of freedom and independence have hoisted high above most Arab and African countries.

Great people of Egypt,

The history of your Armed Forces, as always, will remain rich in national heroism and achievements. Salient gallantry is this glorious July Revolution led by the Armed Forces, whose vanguards came out, on the night of July 23^rd, seventy years ago, backed by the masses of this people to announce the outbreak of the revolution. This uprising restored to the homeland its pride, to the citizens their dignity, and to the history its applicable model for the relationship between the people and their army. Such bond has been characterized over long decades by cohesion and deep mutual trust. It is a unique association between the great proud people of Egypt, and the army that represents a model of the national institution, which is aware of its mission fully performed without hesitation.

We pay special tribute, during this prodigious memory, to those heroes who led the revolution and sacrificed their lives willingly to create a new dawn. These heroes are topped by the leader Gamal Abdel Nasser, President Mohamed Anwar Sadat and President Mohamed Naguib.

Great People of Egypt,

We insist, with a firm and unrelenting will, on achieving the major focused targets and the sublime assumed goals to advance our dear country, and change its reality for the better. This is done so that Egypt would remain able to provide a decent life for its sons, in the present and for the coming generations, taking into account, the rapid changes of the era, and its new concerns. Indeed, Egypt, with its geographical location, and its regional and international role, cannot isolate itself from those challenges and changes, and their repercussions that are sweeping the whole world. Conceivably, you will agree with me that there is no way to overcome these challenges, except by strenuous and unceasing work. Egypt has faced, during the past years, various challenges, with economic, social, political and security dimensions. I assure you, that but for the state’s efforts in the field of economic reform, which the Egyptian people have borne, as well as the giant development projects all over the country, it would not have never been possible to withstand these severe crises that have swept the world for three years. The successive accomplishments that have been achieved in Egypt over the past years, especially in the fields of infrastructure, new urban communities, energy, and the localization of industry, have become a witness to the strength of the Egyptian will to progress, build a better future, and form a robust and firm national economy.

Great People of Egypt,

I am sure of our determination to continue together in steady and unwavering steps on the chosen path to entrench the New Republic. This republic is that of development, construction, progress and the change in reality; the republic that launches a comprehensive intellectual, social and humanitarian system that builds a developed human and society dominated by high human values. ​​In spite of the emergent adverse circumstances caused by many unfavorable international events and developments; yet, we are able, by Allah’s Willing, and thanks to the determination of the people of this great nation, to overcome them. Let our celebration today be a renewable impetus to work and watch over the advancement of our dear country, and to realize the aspirations of its honorable people, to a bright present and future, overshadowed by security and stability in which development flourishes.

In conclusion, I would like to reiterate my greetings to all of you on the anniversary of the glorious July Revolution. Many happy returns of the day, hoping that dear Egypt, is always in safety and progress.
