The 3rd meeting of Egypt’s National Dialogue

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue held its third session, at the headquarters of the National Training Academy, to discuss and review the topics included within the agenda.
At the beginning of the session, the General-Coordinator Diaa Rashwan and members of the Board of Trustees lauded decisions of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to pardon some prisoners, urging that more pardons would be announced later.
He also reviewed the recommendations of the Board of Trustees at the conclusion of its second session, which included, which included the establishment of 3 sub-committees to focus on the political axis: Exercising political rights, parliamentary representation, political parties, localities, human rights and public freedoms.
The session witnessed extensive discussions on the priorities of work in the societal axis. In view of the great overlap between the nature of societal issues and economic issues and the impact of each on the other, the Council agreed on forming five sub-committees to focus on the societal axis; namely: education, health, demographics, family and community cohesion, culture and national identity.
The Board of Trustees decided that the fourth session will be held on Wednesday, August 3, at 12 noon at the Academy’s headquarters to discuss issues of the economic axis.
