Shoukry, Irish FM confer on boosting bilateral ties

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry conferred on Thursday with Irish Foreign and Defense Minister Simon Coveney on means of enhancing bilateral ties in light of the current boost in the Egyptian-EU relations.
This came during a meeting on the sidelines of their participation in the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77).
The ministers tackled means to invest the promising potentials of cooperation between Egypt and Ireland in a number of sectors topped by renewable energy, communication, information technology, digitization, medical and pharmaceutical industries and food industries, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
Coveney was keen on standing on all the organizational developments related to Egypt's hosting the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 27), Abu Zeid said.
The meeting also reviewed a number of regional issues, including the Egyptian stance towards the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue in addition to the latest developments of the Palestinian cause and means to revive the peace process.
