Egypt keen to integrate intellectual property issues into its national policy

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed on Thursday 22/9/2022 Egypt's keenness to integrate intellectual property issues into its national policy; in light of the State's conviction that knowledge, innovation and scientific research are a pillar of progress and economic development.
Sisi made the remarks during his meeting with Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Daren Tang in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mohamed Ayman Ashour.
The president emphasized Cairo’s support for its cooperation with WIPO in its various fields of work, especially scientific research, science, technology and innovation.
He also pointed out to Egypt’s support for entrepreneurs and innovators, noting in this regard that the country has launched its National Strategy for Intellectual Property, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Meanwhile, Daren Tang commended Cairo’s efforts to maintain cooperation with WIPO with a view to shoring up intellectual property rights and enhancing relevant capacity building.
He also lauded Egypt’s launch of the National Strategy for Intellectual Property within the framework of Egypt Vision 2030.
