President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Mr. Daren Tang, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President affirmed Egypt's keenness to integrate intellectual property issues into its national policy, as knowledge, innovation and scientific research are a fundamental pillar of economic development and progress. In this regard, it was mentioned that Egypt supports cooperation with WIPO in various fields, especially scientific research, science, technology, and innovation and it also supports entrepreneurs and innovators. Accordingly, the national strategy for intellectual property in Egypt has been launched.

Mr. Tang expressed his honor to meet with President El-Sisi, praising Egypt's efforts in cooperating with WIPO to support intellectual property, capacity-building, and development efforts and to provide job opportunities for young innovators. These efforts were embodied in the national intellectual property strategy launched in Egypt, under Egypt’s Development Vision 2030. This, in turn, has made Egypt an inspiring model to be followed by the rest of the Middle East, given the leadership of its President toward unprecedented achievements in various fields.
