President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II reviewed Saturday the latest developments at the regional level, especially with regard to the Palestinian cause.
During a meeting the Ittihadiya Presidential Palace in Cairo's Heliopolis neighborhood, the two leaders emphasized the importance of consolidating joint Arab efforts to resolve regional crises while guaranteeing the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region, according to presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
Welcoming the Jordanian monarch, Sisi hailed the robust fraternal relations between Egypt and Jordan.
He said he looks forward to pushing relations forward for the benefit of their peoples, whether at the bilateral level or as part of the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Iraq, especially in the economic and commercial domains.
Sisi also commended the Jordanian government's efforts to take good care of Egyptian expats in Jordan.
Meanwhile, King Abdullah asserted Amman's interest in making the best use of Egypt's development experience in all fields, by sharing expertise and promoting joint investments.
The two sides agreed on the need to consolidate joint efforts in support of Palestinian brethren, and revive peace talks to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian problem, in such a manner that safeguards the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, based on the resolutions of international legitimacy.
