President El-Sisi’s visit to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Participate in the First China-Arab Summit

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi went to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the first China-Arab States Summit, in the capital, Riyadh.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the President’s participation in the first China-Arab States Summit emanates from Egypt’s commitment to strengthening and further advancing the outstanding historical relations between the Arab States and China. It also aims to effectively contribute to reinforcing joint action mechanisms so as to achieve common interests. The summit aims to build on the extended political dialogue between the two sides, in addition to consultation and coordination on ways to maximize the prospects of mutual economic and development cooperation. The summit is also expected to examine endeavors to maintain regional and international security and stability.

The President’s agenda also includes holding a number of bilateral meetings with leaders participating in the Riyadh Summit to discuss ways to further promote bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.


President El-Sisi Arrives in Riyadh to Participate in the First China-Arab Summit

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where he was received by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit and senior statesmen.

The Summit comes at a time when the region needs concerted efforts, internationally and regionally, to find political solutions to many regional and international crises and issues. The Summit is a milestone in the process of strategic partnership between the Arab States and China.

President El-Sisi Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in Riyadh

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Riyadh. 

The Spokesman for the Presidency said that President El-Sisi offered his congratulations once again to the Chinese president for his re-election as the General Secretary of the Communist Party for a third term.The President expressed confidence in China's continuation to move forward on the path of development under President Xi Jinping's leadership and looked forward to working with China in the coming period to enhance relations between the two sides, particularly in light of the historical and extended friendship between the two countries and their peoples. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to develop joint cooperation at various levels, both within the collective Arab context and bilateral framework through the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

For his part, China’s president congratulated President El-Sisi on Egypt’s high-level organization of the World Climate Summit (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh and its great success. He  also noted that his country values the ties it shares with Egypt and constantly seeks to promote its partnership with Egypt in all fields, particularly by expanding and diversifying cooperation frameworks. This is in addition to supporting Egypt in the current development process led by President El-Sisi. President Jinping noted that Egypt has promising opportunities for Chinese investments and companies, therefore there are broad prospects for improving trade exchange and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two countries. President El-Sisi noted the integration of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Egypt’s development efforts, particularly the development of the Suez Canal Corridor 
and state's infrastructure including the sectors of roads, seaports and energy. President El-Sisi expressed that Egypt looked forward to increasing the flow of Chinese tourists to Egypt. This is in addition to encouraging Chinese companies to maximize their investments in Egypt, particularly in the areas of co-manufacturing localization and Chinese technology transfer, in light of the Egyptian government's support to the Chinese companies.
Views were exchanged on developments in the Middle East, in light of he challenges the region is facing. The Chinese president valued Egypt’s leading role in safeguarding peace, security and stability in the region, particularly fighting terrorism and extremism ,as well as  Egypt’s active efforts to reach political settlements to various crises within its regional surrounding. A role that China relies on to consolidate the China-Arab partnership.


President El-Sisi Meets Iraqi Prime Minister in Riyadh

 President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Riyadh. 

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the President offered his congratulations once again to the Iraqi prime minister for gaining the confidence of parliament and forming the government, wishing him success in performing his duties. The President affirmed great appreciation for the Iraqi government and people, highlighting the close and historical ties that two countries share, in addition to Egypt's keenness to advance the e frameworks of cooperation to broader horizons.

The President affirmed the firm pillars of the Egyptian policy to support Iraq and optimise its Arab national role, in addition to providing full support to the Iraqi people at various levels and helping them overcome all challenges, especially those related to fighting terrorism and restoring security and stability, within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Jordan and at the bilateral level by establishing strategic partnership between the two countries based on integration and the achievement of common development goals.
The President noted the importance of speeding up the process of implementing joint projects between Egypt and Iraq in order for economic achievements to be commensurate with the political ones.

The Iraqi prime minister affirmed his country's appreciation for Egypt's efforts in support of Iraq at all levels. He looked forward to strengthening cooperation frameworks with Egypt, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Jordan. This is in order to benefit from the inspiring Egyptian success experience in terms of building state institutions and achieving sustainable development and national projects and transferring them to Iraq, particularly in the field of infrastructure and electric power. This is in addition to strengthening economic cooperation, trade and investment, while valuing the Egyptian role in support of Iraq, which represents a strategic depth for his country at the regional and international levels, especially facing common challenges, mainly combating terrorism and realising security, stability and development.

The Spokesman added that the meeting touched on the overall bilateral relations, notably following-up on the status of implementation of bilateral cooperation projects in various fields and the implementation of projects emanating from the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Jordan.


President El-Sisi Meets Tunisian President Kais Saied

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the Republic of Tunisia, Kais Saied, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The Spokesman of the Presidency said President El-Sisi lauded the remarkable brotherly relations between Egypt and Tunisia, wishing all success to the executive authority in Tunisia, under the leadership of President Kais Saied, in administering the state during this critical juncture in the history of the Tunisian people. President El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s commitment to exerting more efforts to further advance bilateral cooperation across an array of fields, particularly strengthening channels of communication between the two countries at the economic level, boosting trade and increasing mutual investments.

The Tunisian President confirmed that his country values the firm bonds and relations it shares with Egypt, at both the official and popular levels. He valued Egypt’s achievements over the past years on the domestic level, primarily in the areas of security, stability and development. President Saied also commended Egypt’s prominent political leverage at the regional and international levels, which reflects positively on joint Arab and African action, and efforts to reach political solutions to the existing crises in the region.

President El-Sisi Meets President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Al-Burhan

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The Spokesman of the Presidency said President El-Sisi confirmed Egypt’s unwavering position in support of the security and stability of Sudan and its persistent commitment to supporting Sudan regionally and internationally, within the framework of the robust and eternal brotherly relations between Egypt and Sudan. President El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt seeks to strengthen and further advance bilateral relations across all fields, particularly at the security, military, economic and trade levels.

President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support for the Sovereignty Council’s efforts to achieve political stability and security in Sudan, given the firm bonds between the two countries’ national security and the historic bonds the two peoples of the Nile Valley share.

President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for the signing of the Sudan Political Framework Agreement, that was signed early this month, on December 5. He described it as a key and pivotal step toward establishing the principles pertinent to the governance structure in Sudan and supporting the Sundanese state to achieve the success of the political process, through a purely Sudanese consensus that ensures the stability and prosperity of Sudan.

General Al-Burhan expressed Sudan’s profound appreciation for Egypt at the official and popular levels, and valued the longstanding bonds the two countries and their peoples share. He commended mutual efforts exerted to foster closer joint cooperation and Egypt’s unlimited support within the various fora to maintain the security and stability of Sudan. The President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council highlighted the broad prospects for promoting joint cooperation, stressing Sudan’s commitment to offering a supportive environment to boost relations across the various strategic development fields.

The meeting reviewed overall bilateral relations; the two sides were satisfied with the level of the ongoing coordination between their countries. The meeting also tackled the latest developments in regional issues of mutual concern, and there was an alignment in views with regard to the need to continue intensive consultations and mutual coordination in the coming period so as to serve the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.

President El-Sisi and General Al-Burhan also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Renaissance Dam dossier. They underscored their agreement on the utmost importance of the water issue to the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples as a national security issue. They reiterated the two countries’ adherence to reaching a legally-binding agreement on the filling and operation processes of the dam, that shall achieve the common interests of all parties.

President El-Sisi Meets Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, in Riyadh.

The Spokesmen for the Presidency said HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed President El-Sisi’s visit to Riyadh, stressing that Saudi Arabia values the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, which share a common destiny and shared fate. HRH Prince Mohammed emphasized Saudi Arabia’s keenness to reinforce frameworks of bilateral cooperation at various levels, commending Egypt’s efforts that contributed to the success of the first China-Arab summit.

President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, emphasizing the importance of the meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince, particularly at this delicate time that is witnessing many successive developments at the regional and international levels. He also expressed the appreciation and gratitude of Egypt’s leadership and people for Saudi Arabia and of their close historical ties. The President highlighted the need to continue their periodic and intensive high-level consultations and coordination on issues of common concern. This reflects the two countries’ commitment to deepening their well-established strategic relations and to enhancing Arab and Islamic unity in the face of the various challenges facing the region at the present time.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen various aspects of bilateral relations, mainly at the economic and investment levels. The two sides also explored launching more joint projects, in light of the promising investment opportunities available to both sides, as well as capitalizing on all fields available to enhance integration between them.


President El-Sisi returned to the home land after participating in the first China-Arab States Summit.
