The Arab Healthcare Development Annual Forum (AHDAF), Egypt 2023

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, participated on Wednesday 11-1-2023 in the Arab Healthcare Development Annual Forum (AHDAF) Egypt 2023, held in Cairo under the theme “INVESTING IN HEALTHCARE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE” on 10 -11 January 2023 in Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel – Egypt, with the support of the League of Arab States, the Arab Ministries of Health, WHO - EMRO, Egyptian Healthcare Authority, General authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation, The Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority (UPA) and many Arab Healthcare organizations, syndicates and bodies.

The event witnessed the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, President of the Public Authority for Health Care, Fadi Alame, President of the Arab Hospitals Federation, Dr. Tawfik Khoja, Secretary General of the Arab Hospitals Federation.

The forum is organized by the Arab Hospitals Federation, with the aim of exchanging visions and ideas and crystallizing them into executive frameworks to strengthen health systems and support digital transformation processes in all Arab countries.

The forum activities began with the honoring of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, by Fadi Alame, President of the Arab Hospitals Federation, with the Distinguished Leader Award in the development of the health care sector, wishing him continued success, substantial contributions, and promising achievements in the health sector.

Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said in his speech that the Egyptian State managed to achieve great success in the files of digital transformation and governance of healthcare services, which helps achieve justice in providing the best medical services to citizens and offer comprehensive health coverage for all segments of society.

Abdel Ghaffar added that digital transformation processes are considered the main force for any society seeking to upgrade its health services.

He affirmed that the forum is set to enrich support for the Egyptian and Arab health action, the minister said, noting that Egypt is working according to an advanced strategy meant to achieve more successes in digital transformation processes.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that this strategy includes cooperation and coordination among Arab states in the medical training file via developing a plan to train medical teams and overcome the challenges that may face health systems in Arab countries.

For her part, Alice Boueiz the Chief Executive Officer of the Arab Hospitals Federation said praised the efforts of the Egyptian state in upgrading the health sector, as well as its role in developing the health care file and providing comprehensive health coverage.

She stressed that Egypt, one of the first developed countries in the health file, is an attractive area for investment in the health field, noting that It is the pride of the Arab countries to cooperate with the Egyptian state for the success of health systems and their development according to clear and specific future plans and vision.

She further urged all Arab countries including sectors, bodies, private companies and other concerned parties to participate in the field of health investment, especially the medical tourism file, with the aim of Achieving health integration and health security in the Arab world.
