Minister of Culture Nivene al Kilani said on Monday that Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is keen on the continuation of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) despite economic hardships and COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister's statements came in a press conference organized by the higher committee of CIBF at Egypt International Exhibition Center - Fifth Settlement - in the presence of Jordanian Ambassador in Cairo Majid Al Adaila whose country is the guest of honor of the cultural event this year.
The fair is Egypt's cultural window to the world, said the minister, adding this year it will focus on the Egyptian identity that fascinates the whole world.
For his part, the Jordanian envoy hailed the strength of Egyptian-Jordanian relations, saying some 28 Jordanian publishing houses will take part in the event which runs from January 25 through February 6
