Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken started here on Monday a session of expanded talks at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's HQ.

The meeting is scheduled to tackle means of promoting strategic ties between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The two sides will hold a joint press conference after the talks.
