President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received, on Tuesday 21-2-2023, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Ittihadiya Palace in Heliopolis to hold bilateral talks, in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.

An official reception ceremony took place for the President of Uzbekistan, when military music played the national anthems of the two countries, and then the two presidents reviewed the guard of honor.

The visit includes holding the Egyptian-Uzbek Business Forum, in the presence of a large number of businessmen from both countries, and the signing of a number of important economic agreements.

The visit aims to give a long-term impetus and a strong impetus to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

Egypt was among the countries that acknowledged the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 26, 1991, and established diplomatic ties with it on January 23, 1992.

Also, Egypt officially opened its embassy in Tashkent in May 1993, while the Uzbek embassy in Cairo began its activities in December 1994.
