Supply and Internal Trade Minister Ali Moselhi said Egypt withdrew from the grain deal since Cairo has not got the desired benefits from the agreement during the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

Speaking on the sidelines of opening a fair of "Ahlan Ramadan", he reiterated Saturday 18/03/2023 that the deal’s aim is to strike a balance in the markets, provide wheat needs of countries and control the trade balance for producers and consumers.

The deal, however, failed to realize these desired goals during the Ukraine-Russia crisis, so Egypt withdrew from it, he added.
