Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Soha Gendi chaired on Saturday 18/03/2023 the first meeting of the permanent national committee for following up Egyptian students abroad in accordance with the president's directives.

The president ordered to adopt optimum legal measures to lay down some exceptional criteria for students coming from Russia and Ukraine to help them join Ahliya (non-profit) universities.

The meeting offered an important opportunity for promoting coordination and reaching final recommendations about the situation of Egyptian students in dispute countries.

Gendi said that we are closely following upon the situation since the onset of the crisis in February, 2022, in addition to various efforts to evacuate Egyptian citizens to safe areas.

She reviewed the establishment of the council of young scholars and researchers (under construction) and its importance to benefit from experiences they had in world universities in order to serve the state's goals in attaining sustainable development.
