Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Tuesday18/4/2023 issued directives to activate operations and crises rooms nationwide in preparation for Eid al-Fitr (Lesser Bairam) to secure commodities through cooperation among the state's bodies concerned.

During a video-conference meeting with governors to tackle a set of domestic files and issues, Madbouli greeted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian people on the Eid which this year coincides with the Easter and Sinai Liberation Day which is a national holiday.

The premier directed governors and Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna to take all necessary measures to control prices of commodities and secure their availability through intensifying surveillance campaigns and maintaining coordination with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade as well as the other official bodies concerned.

Madbouli urged intensifying campaigns designed to regularly follow up on securing commodities during Eid, specially the strategic ones.

During the meeting, the local development minister reviewed preparations of governorates ahead of Eid al Fitr. He said that all governorates have been tasked with activating the role of central operations rooms alongside maintaining coordination with the main operations room at his ministry.

Governors have been instructed to keep the activities of the low-cost outlets and organize fairs for the high-demand commodities alongside intensifying campaigns on markets and stocks to report any violations, minister Amna said.
