President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met, on Tuesday 23-5-2023, with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Burundi, Gervais Ndirakobuca, in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the distinct level of relations between the two countries at the level of political coordination and consultation and the level of economic cooperation, which has recently witnessed significant progress. 

The prime minister of Burundi thanked the President for Egypt's continued support for his country's developmental needs and capacity-building of Burundian cadres as well as assisting Burundi at various international and regional fora, which sets an example for cooperation and coordination among African states.

The meeting also reviewed the latest regional developments of mutual interest, particularly the Great Lakes region, East Africa and the Nile Basin.
