President El- Sisi receives his Zambian counterpart ahead of COMESA Summit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, 8-6-2023, met with his Zambian counterpart Hakainde Hichilema ahead of the 22nd Summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) in the Zambian capital Lusaka.

Egypt is set to hand over the COMESA presidency to Zambia.

Sisi is set to hold important talks with leaders of African countries.

The summit, in which 21 African leaders will take part, focuses on means of promoting development and economic and trade integration among COMESA members.

COMESA groups 21 countries; namely Egypt, Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Kenya, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Malawi, Madagascar, Libya, Seychelles, Rwanda, Mauritius, Tunisia, Sudan, Somalia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
