President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated on 6/15/2023 the first-ever October Dry Port, which was implemented within the partnership plan between the public and private sectors.

The October Dry Port is located in the industrial and logistical zone of the New 6th of October City. The port extends over an area of 100 acres, and is equipped with an electronic system for its gates for the entry and exit of container trucks.

What does October Dry Port contain?

- The port includes 10 buildings (administrative - ambulance - appraisers - detection - firefighting - customs - government departments).

- Land ports trading areas established on an area of 60 acres with a capacity of 720 containers / day, a storage capacity of 260 thousand containers, 5 railway lines of 4.8 km, and roads of 70 thousand square meters.

- The port includes a truck parking area, a 50-car parking area, sheds, and a customs warehouse.

Port objectives:

- It facilitates the transportation of goods to and from the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila.

- It works to boost transportation of goods by railways.

- It reduces pressures on roads during transporting goods to maintain them.
