President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received  a phone call from Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida on Wednesday 29/11/2023.

The call tackled ways to enhance bilateral relations, in light of the firm and close bonds the two countries share.

President El-Sisi and Japan’s Prime Minister also exchanged views on developments in the region and in the Palestinian territories.

Prime Minister Kishida was keen on getting a better understanding of President El-Sisi’s vision on ways toward de-escalation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as endeavors aimed at firming-up the ongoing ceasefire and building on it to achieve a permanent one.

The call also focused on Egypt’s efforts to provide relief aid to the people in the sector.

 Prime Minister Kishida expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s role and efforts across the various relevant aspects of the current crisis and to reinforce stability in the region.

President El-Sisi underscored the crucial need for the international community to act, in earnest, toward a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian issue, in line with the terms of reference of international legitimacy.
