The 55th edition of Cairo International Book Fair 2024

The 55th session of Cairo International Book Fair 2024 will be held at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions and Conferences, in the Fifth Settlement, from January 25 to February 6, 2024, under the slogan “We create knowledge, we preserve the word,” with the participation of 1,200 publishers, from the continents of the world, showing an increase of 153 publishers compared to the tast session. Also, the number of participating countries reached 70 countries of different nationalities, with the Kingdom of Norway as guest of honour.

The Supreme Advisory Committee of the Cairo International Book Fair chose the Egyptologist, Dr. Salim Hassan, to be the character of the exhibition, and the pioneer of children’s literature, Yaqoub Al-Sharouni, to be the character of the Children's exhibition.

In a joint press conference held on Sunday in Cairo, the bodies unveiled the most important details about the 2024 edition of the Cairo International Book Fair.

Location: Egypt International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo.

Dates: 25 January – 6 February

Times: The fair will run 10am-8pm every day, except Thursday and Friday when it will close at 9pm.

Ticketing: EGP 5. Tickets can booked on the fair's official website (tickets will still be available at the door).

Size: Five exhibition halls spanning 80,000 square meters.

Participants: 1,200 publishing houses from 70 countries, and a total of 5,250 exhibitors

Guest country: Norway.

Person of the Year: Egyptologist Salim Hassan

Person of the Year, Children’s Book Fair: Children's book novelist Yaqub Sharuni

Programme: 500 events, held over the course of the fair

Getting there: The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Public Transport Authority, allocated 11 bus lines to and from the fair’s venue. These lines originate from various areas of Cairo, with 115 vehicles operating at an average frequency of 20 minutes.
