Journalist Diaa Rashwan, Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS), directed the domestic media sector to organize continuous celebrations of the 42^nd anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day through media centers and Nile Centers in Cairo and all governorates, out of the State Information Service’s keenness to spread awareness and national culture among citizens and introduce them to the glories and history of the national struggle of all the people to liberate every inch of Egyptian land on this national occasion.

The celebrations include a series of popular and public meetings, educational seminars, lectures and artistic performances, which symbolize all stages of the struggle to liberate Sinai, the phases of its reconstruction, and the continuing struggle to protect it.

Rashwan stressed that Egypt celebrates on April 25 the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai, an achievement that was accomplished by all means of national struggle; including the armed struggle, starting with the War of Attrition and the Glorious October War, then through political and diplomatic means, then by legal means through international arbitration, all of which are major battles that Egypt fought with determination and ability.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Yahya, Head of the State Information Service (SIS)’s Domestic Media Sector, explained that the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai includes various media activities that reflect feelings of pride, as military experts and university professors will address these activities, in addition to showing documentary films about Sinai, as well as presenting various artistic and theatrical performances, all centered around the immortal Egyptian victories, in coordination with state agencies and civil society organizations.

He further pointed out that the Domestic media centers are keen to create an atmosphere of joy on this National Day by broadcasting many patriotic songs related to the event, and segments will also be organized to present texts of poetry and literature to young creative people from all over the governorates.
