President El-Sisi Attends Egyptian Tribes and Families Union Celebration on Oct. Victory Anniversary

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended the Egyptian Tribes and Families Union celebration, marking the anniversary of October Victory.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed, on Saturday evening 10-26-2024, the celebration of the Union of Arab Tribes and Egyptian Families marking the 51st anniversary of the 6th of October 1973 victory anniversary, at the Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital.

Upon his arrival, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi was welcomed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik.

The celebration witnessed the attendance of a massive number of Egyptians, including delegations from the Homeland Defenders (Homat Al-Watan) from all governorates, who filled the stadium to participate in the grand celebration, sending a message to the world about the unity and solidarity of all the Egyptian people.

The celebration underscores Egyptians' pride in the heroes of the armed forces who succeeded in achieving the immortal victory, as well as supporting the political leadership in all measures deemed necessary to preserve Egypt and its national security.

The celebration hosted artistic performances that have filled the New Administrative Capital stadium with patriotic fervor and immense pride, commemorating the October 6 victory anniversary.

Actor Amr Saad, who presented the ceremony, extended thanks to Sisi for responding to the invitation of the Egyptian Tribes and Families Union to celebrate the 51st anniversary of October Victory.

Saad also lauded the good organization of the event, which is the first celebration organized by NGOs in cooperation with the Armed Forces in the New Administrative Capital’s Olympic Village, the largest sporting building in the Middle East.

Saad said the celebration narrates the great history of Egypt through thousands of years with the participation of huge crowds coming from all governorates nationwide.

A documentary titled “A story of heroes” was displayed to show the struggle of Egyptians since the dawn of history. 

The film showed heroic stories of Egyptians throughout the history, particularly the great roles played by Sinai’s tribes as well as inhabitants of Mansoura and Damietta, since the eras of Pharaohs till the October Victory.

The film also focused on the Army’s fighting against terrorism in Sinai after the 30th June Revolution with the support of Arab tribes to uproot terrorists.

Singer Tamer Ashour presented a singing performance, followed by an operetta performed by several Egyptian singers.

The celebrations also included displaying eight documentaries, which shed light on heroic stories of Egyptians who led development efforts nationwide. 

The documentaries also highlighted great achievements made nationwide in different fields, including infrastructure, roads, housing, medical and sporting domains. 

Egyptian rapper Wegz sang a song, followed by two songs by Mohamed Mounir and Angham. 

President El-Sisi delivered a short speech, in which he greeted Egyptian people, lauding their great sacrifices that led to the glorious victory of October. The president also expressed thanks to organizers of the ceremony.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the October 6, 1973 War will remain an inspiring story, noting that the victory achieved was thanks to the will of an entire people who rejected defeat and challenged tough conditions.

Commenting on the October 6, 1973 War victory, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the will of the Egyptian people, their rejection of the status quo, and their insistence on victory were the reason for making the achievement.

El-Sisi pointed out to the amount of sacrifices made by Egyptians in war and peace, led by late president Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, who "accomplished a mission that was ahead of its time".

In his speech, El Sisi has issued directives for naming a main traffic axis in Cairo after Mrs Farhana, a Sinai Bedouin woman, and establishing a neighborhood in Sinai in her name; in recognition of her efforts.

President El-Sisi was keen to shake hands with the Aswan child Anas, a player in Aswan Club.

At the end of the celebration, the national anthem was played.
